Currently based in Hamburg, Germany, Satenik Ghulijanyan’s work is a dynamic exploration of identity, resilience, and the emotional landscapes shaped by history and displacement. Born in Armenia, she witnessed the Nagorno-Karabakh war (1992 to 1994) from a region bordering the frontline, an experience that profoundly influenced her artistic language. Frequent relocations across cultures further deepened her perspective, fueling a body of work that reflects themes of memory, survival, and human connection.

Working primarily with oil paint and clay, Ghulijanyan employs bold brushstrokes, layered textures, and expressive forms to convey the rawness of human emotion. Her work draws inspiration from Expressionism and Impressionism, the psychological intensity of Francis Bacon, and the sculptural depth of Auguste Rodin. Each piece is a visceral dialogue between the seen and the unseen, where emotion takes form through color, movement, and materiality.

Her art speaks to collectors and institutions seeking work with depth, narrative, and emotional impact. Ghulijanyan’s pieces are not just visual experiences but immersive, thought-provoking reflections on the human condition, designed to resonate with audiences on a profound level.

Ghulijanyan has exhibited in both national and international exhibitions, and her works can be found in private and public collections worldwide.
